Monday morning at the practice .There are always a few emergencies from the weekend .Patients are sometimes unsure about what to do if they have a dental problem at the weekend. If they are regular patients at the practice we have an out of hours emergency service. If it is a bad enough problem to require reopening the surgery then the on call dentist will arrange that .If it is something that can wait till normal surgery resumes after the weekend the dentist will give advice as to what is best. The sort of problems that are classed as emergencies needing treatment are, pain not controlled by pain killers , swelling in the mouth or face , uncontrollable bleeding inside the mouth ,trauma to the mouth or teeth.Other problems such as a lost filling with no pain or a crown out with no pain can usually wait till next normal surgery.

Its always good to get out and do something at weekends and you may like to know what people at the practice get up to in their time off .Here is one of the dentists scaling a rock face rather than scaling some teeth!
